ready for the New Year!
At this time of year (after the festive season), we are inclined to reflect on the year that has just passed and think about our achievements and other significant events that made the year what it was. Looking forward to the New Year also presents an excellent opportunity to set new goals and to find ways of generating more energy in order to achieve them.
A good way to improve productivity is to look at any clutter you may have accumulated during the year. Clutter can affect our lives in many ways. How much time do you spend doing activities that bring you little or no reward? How many times do you find yourself searching through full Email and voicemail boxes, in order to find the important ones? How many times has clean laundry ended up in the wash because it wasn’t put away properly? Now is the time to kick clutter into touch – and one good place to start is your wardrobe!
Look at the clothes and shoes that you haven’t worn for over a year. Are they still fashionable and are you likely to wear them ever again? Consider having a car boot sale or give them away to charity shops or relief organisations, where donations of clothing are always gratefully received. Now divide the remaining clothes into categories of dresses, suits, trousers, skirts and blouses and/or shirts. Hang each item squarely (preferably on a padded coat hanger) with the top buttons fastened and zips done up. You may also want to protect your formal clothing by storing them in a suit carrier.
Store shoes on a rack or in a set of plastic sleeves that can hang on the inside of your wardrobe. Shiny shoes never fail to impress. Clean them on a regular basis and polish leather shoes often. Try to avoid wearing the same pair of shoes two days in a row – they need time to dry out. Don’t forget to put KenkoInsoles, KenkoStrides® and KidStrides inside each new pair of shoes.
